OPENING OUTDOOR CHORUS

Somewhere Out There

This year’s Limerick Sings International Choral Festival opens with a very special, virtual Outdoor Chorus. Representatives of five of Limerick’s most renowned choirs – Aoide Voices, Limerick Chamber Choir, Limerick Choral Union, Limerick Youth Choir and Voices of Limerick – came together at iconic locations throughout the city to perform Somewhere Out There, under the direction of Máire Keary-Scanlon.

Written by James Horner, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and first performed by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram for the soundtrack of An American Tail (1986), Somewhere Out There is a poignant yet hopeful song about reuniting with loved ones, suitably apt for the times we are in.
