VISITING LIMERICK

Limerick City, Ireland's oldest chartered city dating from the 12th Century, has a long and very fine tradition of choral singing, opera and musical theatre, with many choral groups existing and performing for decades. Limerick Sings extends a warm welcome to choirs of all traditions and nationalities, inviting them to come together for a weekend of festive, non-competitive singing in spectacular venues. The Festival is designed to offer choirs of all backgrounds and styles an opportunity to come together for a summer event in some of Ireland's finest music venues and, without the demands of a competition, encourage choirs in the performance of their own repertoire. Performances with choristers from other countries is an added enjoyment of the Festival, as is exploring the amazing locality and sites of the Wild Atlantic Way.
